Etsy is a greet place to find on of a kind items for your home.  I love organic and natural pieces of art.   These frames would look lovely in any home, just add a black and white photo.  I was also thinking about adding a mirror.  The link is attached.

Photo Inspiration

Inspiration can come from may different sources.  I use magazines and photos that I have taken.  In this photo I love the colors or lack or colors.  I like to mix different shades of white and this photo also has light yellows and pinks.  On the bottom of the page are some sketches for a pillow design based on this photo.  Will post the finish project once I get started.    

Ruffled Pillow and Character

I love adding pillows to every room in my home.  Pillows are a great way to express yourself and you can change them out threw out the year.  My hint is to keep the pillows the main fabrics in your room.  My over all rooms are tan and white so any color pillow will match my rooms.  Here is a great pillow that will add texture and romance to any room.

Green Pig

This is a cute idea to help save money and also look cute on your book case.  I first saw this item in the June 2010 issue of Real Simple.  I love simple unique things like this that can add personality to a room and is a great conversational piece.  This website is a fun place to purchase green items for friends and family and do not forget yourself.

Painting on Fabric

I just started to paint on fabric and I love it.  I played around a lot before I found a design that I like.  The key is how wet the fabric is that you are painting on.  The wetter the fabric the more the paint bleeds.  I use a small spray bottle and I just mist the fabric, then I use a tissue and lightly blot off and water sitting on the surface of the fabric.  Good Luck

  I bought the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) so I can mix my own original colors but you can also buy a verity of other colors.  The brand I bought is called Dye-na-flow.  There is also a great book called Bend the rules with Fabric by Amy Karol.

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink with this gorgeous hand made clutch.  Ok so it is not finished yet but I just have to sew the pieces together on the sewing machine.  What do you think?  I think it is a mix between vintage meets modern.  I am hoping to make my whole collection have this feeling.  Which me luck.

A little bit of the color yellow

I saw this outfit and I had to have it.  Simple colors but full of texture.  With the leather belt and purse and the cotton dress is a perfect combo.  The yellow necklace with a butterfly print on it ties in the purse. I am now thinking about designing off of these colors.   

Room Mural Design

Designing a larger mural for a small room is a lot of fun.  A mural can make a small room appear larger and it is a great way to express yourself.  This is a project that you can do at home.

step 1: find a image that you love that is high quality  

step 2: Open in photoshop and grid the image to the size you want.  Grid to fit 8.5x11 paper

step 3: Open a new file that is 8.5x11, go back to photo and use coy tool to copy one box.  Paste that image into the new file.  You now have one box done.

step 4: repeat till done, make sure that you label each box ex. 1a, 2a

Converse Shoe

Just a relaxing day at home drawing what ever catches my eye.  Today my converse shoe inspired me.  This is the results of my sketch.  I hope to add some mix media to the drawing.  We will have to just wait and see.

Spring Pillow Case

Embroidery Pillow Design

After I fished the designs it was time to sew it onto the fabric.  I hand embroidery the flower with different stitches and color thread.  I enjoyed this step and it was fun to see the pillow transform from plane white to a beautiful flower design.  I will post the case in the pillow soon.  There is a little surprise yet to come that I still have to add to the pillow.  What do you think?     

Flower Color Swatches

I have been working on pillow case designs.  Here are the colors I choose for my flower pillow case.  I was going for young, modern, with a vintage feel.  I wanted the colors to pop on the fabric.  What do you think?

Sketch Pattern

After finding images and colors that I enjoyed I looked up photos of different types of flowers.  From those photos I drew out the flowers.  Above are my drawing of the flowers.  I arranges them on paper that is the same size of the pillow case.  I used this drawing as my pattern for the pillow case.  Coming soon are the colors I choose and the finale product.     

New Project- Process 1

Mood Board

I am working on a new project for pillow cases.  In the mood board are some things that inspired me.  Nature is the main inspiration for me.  I like the colors n flowers,  fruits, and the sky.  In the next week I am going to continue to post images showing the process to the finale product.  Once the product is finish it will be for sale on Etsy.  Hope you enjoy and learn about the steps it takes to make art. 

A New Year and New Adventure

I am typing to say Happy New Years.  This year I have many fun new adventures and goals.  I am starting off the new year by moving to Fairfax Va to attend the Master of Art Education Program at GMU.  I am packing up tonight and moving to my new place tomorrow, I cant wait.  One of my many goals is to draw, paint, or design once a day and to post my progress and work on this blog.  I would love to hear you opinions and advice.
